Privacy Policy

Clipboard Pro is an offline clipboard-management Chrome extension designed to help users save, organize, search, and reuse copied text.

Privacy at a glance: Clipboard Pro handles user-selected clipboard content and limited source metadata to provide its features. This information is processed and stored locally on the user's device. Clipboard Pro does not send it to our servers, sell it, use remote code, or require an account.

1. Information Clipboard Pro processes

When a user copies text, captures text from a webpage or PDF, or creates a saved snippet, Clipboard Pro processes and stores that content locally to provide clipboard history, saved snippets, categories, favorites, search, automatic titles, and insertion features.

Because users choose what to copy or save, this content may include website content, personal communications, personally identifiable information, financial or payment information, authentication information, or other user-provided text. Clipboard Pro does not independently seek these categories of information and does not transmit the stored clipboard content to us or to third parties.

Clipboard Pro may also store the source URL, domain, or page title associated with captured content so the user can identify or reopen its original source. This limited browsing metadata is stored locally and is used only for the extension's user-facing clipboard and source-reopening features.

2. Local storage and data transmission

Clipboard history, saved snippets, categories, favorites, source metadata, and settings are stored locally through the browser's extension storage.
Clipboard Pro does not operate a server that receives or stores clipboard content.
Clipboard Pro does not provide cloud synchronization or require a user account.
Clipboard Pro does not execute remotely hosted JavaScript or WebAssembly.

Data remains on the user's device unless the user independently copies, pastes, exports, shares, or submits it elsewhere.

When a user opens an online PDF in Clipboard Pro's built-in PDF viewer, the viewer loads that user-requested PDF from its original URL so it can render the document locally. This is necessary to display the requested document and is not analytics, telemetry, advertising, or transmission to a Clipboard Pro server.

3. Chrome permissions

Clipboard Pro uses browser permissions only to deliver its core clipboard-management purpose:

Stores clipboard history, saved snippets, categories, favorites, limited source metadata, and user preferences locally so they remain available across browser sessions.

clipboardRead

Reads clipboard text for clipboard-history features when the user copies content or uses Clipboard Pro.

clipboardWrite

Copies a user-selected item or snippet back to the clipboard when the user requests it.

sidePanel

Displays Clipboard Pro's interface in Chrome's side panel so users can access and manage their content while browsing.

Host access

Runs Clipboard Pro's user-facing clipboard capture and snippet-insertion features on supported webpages and loads user-opened PDFs in the built-in viewer. Clipboard Pro may locally process user-selected page or PDF content and limited source metadata for these features, but does not transmit them to Clipboard Pro servers.

4. Data sharing and sale

Clipboard Pro does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties. It does not use user data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to its clipboard-management functionality.

5. Analytics, tracking, and advertising

Clipboard Pro does not use analytics services, advertising trackers, or tracking technologies to monitor users. It does not build a browsing profile or collect location or user-activity data. Any source URL, domain, or page title handled by the extension is stored locally only to identify captured content or let the user reopen its source.

Clipboard content may contain personal communications, authentication details, financial information, personally identifiable information, or other information selected by the user. Clipboard Pro processes such content only to provide its disclosed clipboard-management features and does not transmit it to us.

6. Data control and deletion

Users can delete individual clipboard items, saved snippets, or stored history through Clipboard Pro. Users can also remove locally stored extension data by uninstalling Clipboard Pro or clearing the extension's data through Chrome.

7. Data security

Clipboard Pro minimizes privacy risk by keeping its data locally on the user's device. Users should avoid saving highly sensitive information in any clipboard manager and should maintain appropriate device and browser security.

8. Children's privacy

Clipboard Pro is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if Clipboard Pro's functionality or legal obligations change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
